Rob Lowe enjoyed publishing success with his memoir Stories I Only Tell My Friends. Now he's penning another book, titled Love Life.

Love Life will be published by Simon & Schuster and is scheduled for release in 2013, The New York Times reported.

The book will explore topics such as sex, marriage, money, work, fatherhood and sports, drawing upon Mr. Lowe's own experiences and observations, according to a publisher statement.

An excerpt from the actor's previous book was published in the May 2011 issue of Vanity Fair, the cover of which featured a buff, shirtless Lowe.

The excerpt reflected on the casting process for the film adaptation of the S.E. Hinton novel The Outsiders in a comfortable, welcoming voice -- and dropped the names of several big-time actors throughout, including Patrick Swayze. With subtle humor, Lowe revealed how the younger, more impressionable actors were awed by Swayze, an older married guy with quite the body.

Lowe described a younger Tom Cruise as very polite and business-like. He also mentioned the time they both spent the night at the home of a former so-called greaser as part of role research.

Lowe also wrote about another star of the film, actress Diane Lane, then a fresh-faced, 16-year-old. He described her as one of the prettiest girls he had ever seen. I watch as she breezes by with her chaperone, he wrote. With all the teen testosterone on this movie, she'll need one!

Simon & Schuster publisher Jonathan Karp expressed confidence that the actor's second book would do well.

The first book proved that Rob Lowe is a great storyteller, Karp said in a statement. The second book will prove that he can write about anything and continue to captivate readers.
