Kate Middleton was undoubtedly the fashion and beauty icon of 2011 but her younger sister, Pippa Middleton, seems to have outdone her sibling on BBC's Faces of the year 2011 - the Women list.

The British broadcaster has chosen Pippa Middleton as one of the faces of 2011 for the month of April when the world's attention was glued to Britain's royal wedding of Prince William to Kate Middleton.

Pippa Middleton, 27, gained worldwide fame while she walked down the aisle as bridesmaid of her sister. She was in no way less popular than Kate, thanks to the body-hugging dress designed by Sarah Burton that helped Pippa flaunt her own style statement.

Despite Kate being the center of attraction on the April 29 wedding at London's Westminster Abbey, Pippa's image was not overshadowed. She very much remained in the spotlight on the wedding day and throughout the year.

A recent poll by Britain's second-largest beauty and health retailer, Superdrug, has also named Pippa the second beauty icon of 2011, after Kate Middleton.
