Apple doesn't even go to Macworld anymore, so it's no surprise they didn't attend the Consumer Electronics Show this year. So, there was no iPhone 5 or iPad 3 to be found, but pretty much every other smartphone maker in the world was there.

That means new phones from LG, Nokia, Huawei, Motorola, HTC, Pantech and even Lenovo and Sony. Samsung announced the Exhilerate, a new phone, and announced another phone would debut in the U.S. The Galaxy Note had been available internationally, but the Android-powered phone will make its AT&T debut in an LTE-capable variant.

Sony showed off the fruits of its Ericsson buyout by taking the wraps off the Xperia Ion, also for AT&T. Nokia showed off the new Microsoft powered Lumia 900, and the Microsoft-running HTC Titan II also popped up. Both are for AT&T's LTE network.

It wasn't an all AT&T show, however. Verizon is getting the Droid 4, a keyboard slider phone, and the Droid Razr Maxx. It's an updated Droid Razr with a bigger battery. Also, Sprint announced the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will come to their network. Start the slideshow to see the top new smartphones from CES 2012.
