The actors behind one of television's most beloved and animated families have all signed on to return for both the new season of Arrested Development and the film.

On Saturday, Arrested Development writer Dean Lorey confirmed the casting news on his Web site.

We're really doing this thing. Mitch Hurwitz, Jim Vallely and I are off writing the new season of ARRESTED to premiere on Netflix in 2013. The original cast is back. There are offices and parking spaces. We're shooting this year, Lorey wrote.

I wish I could give more specifics but, for the moment, even the schedule is being kept under wraps. But its' happening and it's great to be back with my pals from the show, he added.

Lorey's news comes some four months after news broke that the show was definitely returning to the small screen.

In October, Hurwitz, the show's creator, announced at the New Yorker Festival that the new season will also be followed by a feature-length movie.

Just creatively, I have been working on the screenplay for a long time and found that as time went by, there was so much more to the story, he said at the time.

As previously announced, the limited new season will have 10 episodes, each focusing on one character so that viewers can find out what the Bluths have been up to. The show's previous three seasons consisted of 22, 18 and 13 episodes, respectively.

We'll do this kind of thing that builds the peril of their lives until they all come together, really, in the first scene of the movie, Hurwitz said.

The New Yorker Festival was also a reunion for the original cast since 2006, when the show wrapped. Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Will Arnett, Portia de Rossi, David Cross and company were all in attendance for the big announcement.

Confirmation that the original cast will be back is no surprise to longtime fans of Arrested Development. Bateman, for example, has been quite vocal about the show's new season since last fall.

Netflix is gassing up the staircar! I don't think I've ever been happier to wear a pair of khakis, Bateman wrote on Twitter, following news that Netflix had signed on to air the new season.
