Asher Stewardson, a nearly 14-pound baby boy, was born Thursday, to mom Kendall Stewardson. Asher Stewardson was born at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, weighing 13 pounds and 13 ounces.

He was delivered naturally in six hours with no epidural and no C-section.Asher Stewardson is 23 1/2 inches and is believed to be the biggest baby ever born at Mercy Medical Center without a surgical delivery, according to AZCentral.com.

The newborn's 15-month-old brother, Judah, weighed 12 pounds, 1 ounce at birth.

We wanted to avoid a C-section because that would have not been good for me or the baby, Kendall Stewardson told AZCentral.com about Asher's birth. We didn't want to forfeit the best possible outcome.

Reports are that the biggest baby on record in Iowa since 1980 weighed 14 pounds and 13 ounces.

But Asher Steward isn't the largest newborn.

According to Guinness World Records, the heaviest baby was born to Giantess Anna Bates (née Swan) from Canada. She gave birth to a baby boy who weighed 23 pounds and 12 ounces. That baby was 30 inches long and was born in Seville, Ohio, on Jan. 19, 1879. The baby died 11 hours later, according to Guinness World Records.

Baby JaMichael

Last July, a Texas woman who gave birth to a baby named JaMichael. Janet Johonson and Michael Brown's baby weighed 16 pounds and 1 ounce. He was 24 inches long with a reported 17-inch chest. Jamichael was born via C-section.

Muhammad Akbar Risuddin

Muhammad Akbar Risuddin is thought to be the heaviest baby born in Indonesia. He was born in 2009 to parents, Hananuddin and Ani, and weighed 19.2 pounds. He is 24.4 inches long, according to CNN.

The heaviest baby born to a healthy mother happened back in September 1955 in Aversa, Italy, according to Guinness World Records. That baby weighed 22 pounds and 8 ounces.
