A video posted to YouTube today shows Syrian rebels in the western city of Homs turning the artillery of a captured tank on the Bashir al-Assad regime.

As a leading opposition member predicted in an interview published in The Daily Telegraph Monday, it appears the fate of al-Assad and his grip on Syria may be closer to being met with swift, brutal ends. In that interview with reporter Damien McElroy, Haitham Maleh, a member of the executive committee of the Syrian National Council, said: Assad and his family will be killed in Syria, their next steps will be very bloody. Two months ago we offered him the option to leave us alone and go but instead he went for the blood of his people. The end for him will be that he is killed like Gadhafi. This marks a major signal of the rebels' impending dominance.
