For the Fall 2012 ready-to-wear collection by Custo Barcelona at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York, designer Custo Dalmau focused on the fabric story, mixing ordinary fabrics with tech fabric and playing with colors.

"It's a fusion of colors, graphics, and materials," he said backstage of the experimental and contemporary collection.

"This is a very experimental collection. We mixed lots of fabrics together with the latest fiber technology. You're going to see a palette of beige, copper, orange, gray and soft green with touches of red and fuschia."

The collection was also comprised of details like metallic, fringe, tufts of hand-loomed wool, leather seemingly wrapped in a cocoon, fur, print and lace, all in a sort of wanderer look, as the models strutted with messy fishtail braided hair.

Many of the skirts were short and paired with patchwork knits and warm fur coats with fringe.
