Jamie Lee Curtis scored big with "NCIS" Tuesday night.

Her guest spot on the CBS drama made the show the most-watched program on Tuesday night, with 19.55 million viewers, the LA Times reports.

Over two episodes, Curtis, 53, plays Dr. Samantha Ryan, a love interest to Mark Harmon's character, Special Agent Gibbs. (That's right, "NCIS" fans, he might find love again!)

Curtis' "NCIS" gig, while brief, is a major return for the actress, who is perhaps best known for starring in horror films like "Halloween," "Prom Night," the Lindsay Lohan switch-up comedy "Freaky Friday," and these days, all those Activia yogurt commercials (on a contract that started in 2007).

In fact, "NCIS" is Curtis' first return to television in more than seven years. In 2005, she appeared in the made-for-television movie, "A Home for the Holidays."

On the movie front, Curtis last starred in the 2010 comedy "You Again," a film that, despite a strong cast led by Curtis, Sigourney Weaver, Betty White and Kristen Bell, flopped.

Between "Freaky Friday" and "You Again," Curtis starred in three (forgettable) pictures, including 2008's "Beverly Hills Chihuahua."

So what has Curtis been doing with her free time? According to a recent interview with the Entertainment Tonight, her duties as mother are to a minimum these days.

Is she ready for a comeback?

"I've raised my children and so I could clearly see myself doing more regular work now because my youngest is 15-and-a-half and the last person he wants to see is me. I think I've done my job right, he wants nothing to do with me," she told ET.

Curtis also has a 26-year-old daughter.

Speaking of children, Curtis has also been busy writing several children's books. Her latest, "My Mommy Hung the Moon: A Love Story," was released in 2010.

Curtis' second "NCIS" episode airs on CBS on Feb. 28.
