Arrested Development
Netflix is set to release all 10 episodes of "Arrested Development" in 2013 -- all at once. Question is, will you be able to watch the new season in one sitting? Fox

The new season of Arrested Development will be arriving with quite a bang, now that Netflix has confirmed that all 10 episodes will be released at the same time.

That's right, Bluth fans. It will be possible to watch -- and finish -- the new season in less than one day.

We are embracing the fact that these episodes are being 'aired,' so to speak, at the same time. And it is changing our storytelling; we had a lot of secrets that we were planting in storytelling, Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos told reporters on Tuesday (via the Hollywood Reporter).

Sarandos was on hand for a panel at the National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas, which was also attended by Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz.

In October 2011, when Hurwitz first announced the return of the show (and plans for a movie), he hinted that each new episode of season four would likely focus on one character, with the first centering on Buster (Tony Hale). But it appears that the original plan has since been scrapped.

We had this idea to do kind of an anthology series and meet the characters, where they have been, one at a time . . . that is evolving into the old show again, even though the concept is slightly different, Hurwitz said at Tuesday's panel.

The Netflix episodes release news comes some four months after show writer Dean Lorey confirmed that the original cast (which includes Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Portia de Rossi, David Cross and Will Arnett) would be back for both the new season and the film.

We're really doing this thing. Mitch Hurwitz, Jim Valley and I are off writing the new season of ARRESTED to premiere on Netflix in 2013. The original cast is back. There are offices and parking spaces. We're shooting this year . . . I wish I could give more specifics but, for the moment, even the schedule is being kept under wraps, Lorey wrote on his website.

Sort of. Last Thursday, Will Arnett shed some light on the filming schedule during an interview on The Today Show.

We're about to start making the 'Arrested Development' miniseries and then right into the movie this summer, he told Ann Curry and Al Roker.

As Arrested Development fans patiently wait for the arrival of all 10 episodes of the new season (and the movie), one can only hope photos from the set will magically leak online over the next eight months (minimum).
