ARSENAL TRANSFER RUMOURS: Giroud, Holtby, Bendtner, Rondon, Yilmaz, Benayoun Discussed In Latest Speculation

All at the Emirates remain hopeful that Robin van Persie will still be running out in an Arsenal shirt next season. But even if the Premier League's leading scorer puts pen to paper on a new contract, boss Arsene Wenger will surely be aware of the need to provide greater attacking support to the Dutchman next season.

Marouane Chamakh has failed to provide the goals since an opening flurry to begin his Arsenal career and, after a season with Sunderland, Nicklas Bendtner may be set for a permanent move away.

The Daily Mirror reports that has hired an England-based agent to try and secure the Dane a move to another Premier League side this summer. The perpetually confident frontman explained the reasons behind recruiting Tom Brookes to work alongside his father, Thomas.

I know Tom from England, and now he and my father are taking care of the ­interested clubs, he said.

Given Wenger's penchant for recruiting talent from France, it has long been thought that last season's Ligue 1 joint-top scorer Olivier Giroud sits top of Arsenal's wanted list. The Montpellier striker's future will not be decided until after Euro 2012, but that has not stopped the Daily Mail from reporting some rather outlandish speculation.

Though being targeted by the likes of the Gunners and Bayern Munich, the Mail claims that Queens Park Rangers are making a bid to sign Giroud.

If Arsenal do miss out on Giroud--though, unlikely to be to QPR--Wenger could move instead for Venezuelan Salomon Rondon. After reports emerged of Arsenal's interest in recent days, the Daily Mail has now weighed in on the speculation.

In their regular feature, the paper rates the chances of the transfer materializing as one out of five.

Rondon, 22, could be a useful signing given that, with his robust style, he would offer something different to Arsenal's frontline. But, in view of Malaga's almost endless wealth, the La Liga side is unlikely to have any desire to sell a player who hit 11 goals for them last season.

A further alternative has emerged in the form of Trabzonspor's Burak Yilmaz. TalkSport reports that, with interest in the 26-year-old coming from Arsenal and Tottenham among others, the Turkish club is preparing a bumper new deal to try and hold onto their leading striker.

A Turkish international, Yilmaz hit 33 goals in 34 league games last season.

Despite spending last season on-loan at the Emirates, it appears increasingly unlikely that Yossi Benayoun will be turning out for the Gunners again next season. A virtual certainty to leave Chelsea this summer, the Daily Mail reports that West Ham, Ajax and Maccabi Haifa are all keenly pursuing the technically-gifted midfielder.

Although not a regular in the Arsenal lineup, the Israeli enjoyed a good run in the team at the end of the season. However, it is likely that Benayoun's age, 32, has counted against him in Wenger's eyes.

Thought to be on the lookout for a new midfielder, Wenger could do a lot worse than take a look at Lewis Holtby. The German international, with an English father, said in an interview with TalkSport on Wednesday that he is a huge admirer of the Gunners.

I have always said that my aim is to come to the Premier League one day because I love the league, said the 21-year-old Schalke regular. My father is English and of course my favorite teams are Everton and Arsenal.

It would be a massive move [to Arsenal] because Arsenal players were always my favorite. They play nice one-touch football, they're offensive, have young players, a great stadium and a great city so it is a nice club.

My thoughts now are first with Schalke but you never know.
