Asus ZenFone 2 was announced in January last year. Now, the Taiwanese tech giant is expected to announce its successor by the end of this month. Like its predecessor, the ZenFone 3 is speculated to arrive with exciting features along with affordable pricing.

Asus will be holding a press conference on May 30 at the Computex 2016 event. Rumors indicate that the company will be announcing Asus ZenFone 3 on May 30, Phone Arena reported. The company has already sent invitations of the unveil event to the media.

The Computex 2016 will be held at Taipei, Taiwan, between May 31 and June 4. Speculations suggest that the Taiwanese firm will be announcing various Zen-branded devices, GSM Arena reported. However, it is rumored to launch ZenFone 3 series smartphones on May 30. The company is also expected to unveil a smartwatch or a Zen branded VR headset.

The livestream of the May 30 event will be available for viewers across the world on the official website of Asus. In March, leaked photos of the alleged ZenFone 3 as well as ZenFone 3 Deluxe were spotted. The leaked images revealed that both the smartphones will be arriving with aluminum chassis. However, other rumors have hinted that both the smartphones will feature a metallic frame placed between glass panels on front and rear sides.

The two ZenFone 3 sets were also spotted on a benchmarking site. The alleged ZenFone 3 and ZenFone 3 Deluxe smartphones have respective model numbers of Z012D and Z010DD. The ZenFone 3 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch screen whereas the ZenFone 3 Deluxe is speculated to house a 5.9-inch display.

The latter is also rumored to come with a fingerprint scanner. Both the devices are speculated to arrive with common specs like Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, 3GB RAM, selfie cameras enabled with LED flash and USB Type-C ports.

Early rumors have suggested that a Qualcomm chipset will be powering upcoming ZenFone 3 series smartphones. However, the invitation of the May 30 launch event carries an Intel logo. Hence, the Taiwanese firm is speculated to release ZenFone 3 in CPU variants powered by Intel and Qualcomm as it did for ZenFone 2 smartphones in 2015.
