A song in Disney’s forthcoming film, “Charming,” will reportedly feature a collaboration between Avril Lavigne, Demi Lovato, Ashley Tisdale, Fall Out Boy and Chinese pop singer Gloria Tang Shi-Wing, better known as G.E.M.
The news was spilled by Chinese pop star G.E.M. who revealed the Disney music collaboration during an interview with InStyle magazine, MTV reported. In the interview, the pop singer spoke about her accomplishments and projects and told InStyle that she landed the voice acting part for Sleeping Beauty in Disney’s “Charming.” G.E.M. also shared that she’ll be working with Lavigne, Lovato and Tisdale to perform a Disney song that was reportedly written by Fall Out Boy.
The movie "Charming" is said to feature three Disney princesses, who discover that they're all engaged to the same Prince Charming. Tisdale is said to star as Cinderella, Lavigne will play Snow White, while Lovato will also lend her voice to a character named Lenore in the film. Actor Wilmer Valderamma also joined the movie project as Prince Charming.
This is not the first time that Fall Out Boy participated in a Disney song project. According to MTV, the band will be featured on Disney’s star studded “We Love Disney” cover collection, with the group’s rendition of “I Wanna Be Like You (The Monkey Song) from “The Jungle Book.”
Fall Out Boy told Alternative Press that they chose the song because there was “something kind of dangerous and punk rock about the way King Louie is in the song.” The band added, “He’s kind of a villain, but kind of not — just kind of out for himself. There’s something weirdly relatable about that.”
Other stars, who participated in the “We Love Disney” cover compilation, included Ariana Grande, Gwen Stefani, Jason Derulo, Tori Kelly, Ne-Yo, Rascal Flatts, Lucy Hale and many more, Fuse reported. These artists sang beloved Disney songs such as “Part of Your World” from “The Little Mermaid,” “A Whole New World” and “Friend Like Me” from hit animation movie “Aladdin,” “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” from the classic “Cinderella” and many more.
The “We Love Disney” compilation will hit movie stores on Oct. 20. On the other hand, the movie “Charming” is slated for a 2016 release.
