Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann formally entered the presidential race Monday night.

The tea party favorite announced in the opening minutes of the televised GOP presidential debate that she has filed papers to kick off her bid for the GOP nomination to challenge President Barack Obama next year. Bachmann is debating six other Republican hopefuls in New Hampshire.

At one point in the debate, she said that President Barack Obama is a one-term president, which garnered her some applause.
