In what panned out to be an entertaining Champions League final, Barcelona capped a commanding performance to win 3-1 against Manchester United at the Wembley Stadium.

Much like their previous meeting in the Rome final in 2009, Manchester United dominated the first 10 minutes but failed to make it count. Instead, Barca slowly settled down and soon scored in the 27th minute when Xavi found an unmarked Pedro who finished with aplomb.

However, against the run of play, United equalized when some brilliant pass-and-move plays from Rooney saw him find the ball at his feet inside the box. He made no mistake with his finishing.

The teams went into half time at 1-1, but it was Barca who were the stronger side, apart from the first 10 minutes. They continued that trend in the second and soon had their reward. No surprises with the scorer as Messi found time outside the box to lash in an early drive low past Van der Sar.

Even then, United didn't look capable of equalizing. Barcelona were just dominating every aspect of the game. The Catalans got the vital two goal cushion in the 69th minute when David Villa curled in a sublime beauty from outside the box.

It all made for an entertaining and top class final. And the best team won.
