Midfielder Xavi Hernandez is expected to miss seven-to-10 days of action after sustaining a muscle tear in his left leg.

Barcelona will play Mallorca on Saturday, and Valencia on March 2. It's possible that Xavi may also miss the match against Zaragoza at Nou Camp on March 5 if his leg hasn't healed.

Pep Guardiola's side had been on a great roll until last week's match against Arsenal, when Barcelona lost 2-1 at Emirates Stadium. The second leg of the round-of-16 match between the two clubs is March 8 at Nou Camp.

A healthy Xavi would be important for Barcelona's chances.

Barcelona is still in a comfortable lead in La Liga with a five-point advantage over Real Madrid.
