Barcelona vs. Real Sociedad: Watch Live Stream Online; Prediction Preview of Barca's La Liga Opener

New Barca manager Tito Vilanova takes over a Catalan club that did not make many major additions via the transfer market. Currently, Vilanova and the rest of the Barca organization are ironing out the final details of a transfer for midfielder Alexandre Song from Arsenal.

Barcelona did attain Jordi Alba on loan from Valencia this summer, who will only add to their dangerous offense that tallied 114 goals last year.

Returning is the three-time FIFA Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi, who turned out a remarkable season last year and led La Liga with 50 goals. Yet Barca could not surpass Real Madrid in the standings and lost by nine points.

This will be the second Camp Nou opener for Cesc Fabregas. He was third on the team with nine goals in La Liga play last season and could try to wrestle the scoring title from Messi.

Barca will try to win their fourth consecutive La Liga opener without Spain World Cup savior David Villa, who is still rehabbing a broken leg that kept him sidelined since December. Villa saw some preseason action, but Barca will not rush his rehab.

Real Sociedad will look to start their season off on a better foot, as they finished 12th in La Liga in 2011, and have lost 14 straight times at Camp Nou. La Real should focus on winning a match outside of its home territory, as they were an awful 3-19 on the road in the Primera Division.

Back on Aug. 10, Real Sociedad permanently added Mexican striker Carlos Vela, who was originally on loan from Arsenal. Vela led the team with 12 goals in 35 appearances last season, just ahead of forward Imanol Agirretxe's 10 goals.

Prediction: Despite Villa's absence, Messi should display his usual dominance for Barca. La Real could focus their efforts solely on shutting Messi down, but that could leave Fabregas unmarked.
