On Thursday, the comic book world was sent into a frenzy when it was reported that “Avengers” director Joss Whedon was in talks to bring DC’s Batgirl back to the big screen. Whedon is reportedly in negotiations to write, direct and produce a stand-alone Batgirl movie for Warner Bros.

Whedon has yet to officially sign on, Variety reports, but it’s never too early to take a few swings at guessing who should suit up as Barbara Gordon. Assuming the director would portray the younger version of Batgirl found in the recent comics, there are a ton of choices out there. Here are six actresses Whedon could cast as Batgirl:

Emma Stone

Emma Stone has been a fan-favorite to play Batgirl for a longtime and for good reason. The “La La Land” actress has enough star power to carry the film and also has the look if Whedon decides to go with the Stephanie Brown version of the character. Stone also has some action roles under her belt such as “Zombieland” and has already starred in a superhero film with “The Amazing Spider-Man.”

Chloë Grace Moretz

Moretz may seem like an easy pick but it’s hard to deny that the young star already has experience as a superhero. A young Moretz portrayed Hit-Girl in “Kick-Ass” and “Kick-Ass 2” and is now at the perfect age to play a young Barbra Gordon.

Emily Blunt

Thanks to 2014’s “Edge of Tomorrow,” Blunt has already proven she can handle an action film and on top of that, the actress has a look that screams Batgirl. At 34 years old, Blunt could still pull off a younger Batgirl if needed.

Felicity Jones

With a string of successful films during her career including “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” Jones would be a great choice to take on the role of Batgirl. Having already played a fierce character with Jyn Erso in “Rogue One,” Batgirl may not be too much of a stretch for Jones.

Tatiana Maslany

The Canadian actress may not have the star power to be the lead actor in the film, but she definitely has the acting chops. Praised for the her portrayal of five different characters on “Orphan Black,” the Emmy winner also has a great look for whichever version of Batgirl they decide to go with.

Amandla Stenberg

If DC and Whedon want to bring some diversity into the DC film universe, 18-year-old Amandla Stenberg would be a good choice. As the youngest star on this list, the “Hunger Games” actress would make a great Batgirl.
