Rumors have been circulating for days about the impending divorce between Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner. The couple announced their split on June 30, but declined to give a reason for going their separate ways. It was initially reported that Affleck’s drinking and gambling had driven a wedge between he and his wife of 10 years. New stories suggested Jennifer Lopez, whom the “Batman” star was once engaged to, made her way back into his life.

According to TMZ that is not the case. Sources tell the site that Lopez’s name never came up when the couple began discussing divorce. Those rumors reportedly stem to a February 25 incident when Affleck was seen approaching Lopez during the Oscars. He apparently said something to the “Booty” singer and walked way. While TMZ’s sources claim Lopez wasn’t the source of Affleck and Garner’s unfortunate divorce, they did not say whether the couple had issues because of other women in their marriage.

Affleck and Garner confirmed their divorce in a joint statement released to TMZ. The couple said they had put “much thought and careful consideration” into their decision and hoped to move “forward with love and friendship.” The pair will reportedly continue sharing their massive Los Angeles mansion following their split. They hope that living together will make the divorce easier on their three children who are “their top priority.”

The pair met in 2003 on the set of “Daredevil.” At the time, Affleck was engaged to Lopez. It wasn’t until seven months after he and the pop diva called off their engagement that he and Garner got romantically involved. They tied the knot in June 2005 and managed to stay out of the spotlight for a majority of their decade long marriage.
