Attendees in costumes at Comic-Con in San Diego are what make the annual event special.

Many flock to the sub-culture festival to catch the latest news on their favorite franchises or to get sneak-peeks at the best upcoming sci-fi and comic book movies, but others go to show off their creativity and fandom.

The event has become so big and so important that movie studios send their biggest stars. This year, Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfired showed up to talk about their new movie, In Time, a futuristic police adventure.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart showed up to promote both the latest Twilight movie, Breaking Dawn.

The event earns a huge crowd, and features Q&A panels, games and booths, where fans can meet their favorite comic book writers, artists or movie actors.

But the costumes, for many people, will always be the most exciting part.
