One person is dead and another is injured following a shooting at a New Jersey mall parking lot early Friday morning.

The shooting took place outside a Macy’s department store in Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing hours before the mall was due to kick off its Black Friday sales at around 1 a.m., CBS3 Philadelphia reports. According to the NY Post, two individuals were shot, one fatally. It is unknown if a suspect is at large at this time.

The deceased is said to be 20-year-old male who was shot “multiple times.” The other injured person is reported to be the victim’s 26-year-old brother, who is being treated for a gunshot wound in his leg.

Police are said to have arrived on the scene at 3:30 a.m. CBS3’s Trang Do reported that dozens of shell casings were scattered nearby a silver SUV in the parking lot. Press of Atlantic City shares the vehicle was towed away from the site at around 7 a.m. Friday.

“It’s a tragedy,” one shopper told CBS3. “It’s very scary you know, you’re starting off the holiday season and you’re excited about the upcoming times with family and now there’s going to be family who are missing people and their holidays will never be the same.”

Hamilton Township Police Department has not provided any further details at this time.
