Blackburn Rovers Vs Manchester City, Saturday 1 October, 1400 GMT

Manchester City will look to bounce back from their controversial midweek with a win at Blackburn.

Roberto Mancini will look to end the week, in which he claimed former-skipper Carlos Tevez would never player for City under his stewardship, with a much-needed win. The Tevez debacle started when the Argentinean refused to come on as a second half substitute at a time when his team was losing 2-0 to Bayern Munich in the Champions League. That only served to overshadow a meek performance from City.

A fortnight ago, they dropped their first points of the season after a mid-week Champions League tie and it remains to be seen how they cope with the strains of European midweek action.

Blackburn come to this game on the back of a 3-1 loss at Newcastle while they also lost their assistant manager John Jensen during the week. Two weeks back, a victory against an Arsenal side who were shambles defensively relieved some pressure on Rovers boss Steve Kean. However, Manchester City are fully expected to take three points here and in the process, increase Kean's chances of becoming the first Premiership manager to be sacked this season.

Team News

Blackburn will be without Martin Olsson who was sent-off against Newcastle last week. Defenders Scott Dann and Michel Salgado are doubtful but Gael Givet will make a return.

Carlos Tevez has been suspended by Manchester City, while Adam Johnson misses out with an ankle injury.

Prediction -

Blackburn 0-3 Manchester City
