Red (James Spader) is back and, from the looks of things, will be pretty busy. “The Blacklist” Season 2 premieres Monday, Sept. 22, and to celebrate NBC has released two sneak peek scenes from the premiere episode. The clips tease fans that the first episode will be quite eventful for “the concierge of crime” as he tries to track down Berlin (Peter Stormare), the criminal mastermind who got away in the Season 1 finale.

The first scene takes Red all the way to Africa, where he is being held prisoner by the militant Yubari. Red, not surprisingly, quickly turns the tables on his captors after confessing that he let himself get captured to get to Yubari. He proposes a deal to benefit both of them; Yubari gives Red the names of Berlin’s bounty hunters in exchange for $3 million. There is a catch, of course. Yubari must agree to help within 30 seconds or Red will “rain fire on him” and get what he wants for free. When Yubari decides to kill Red and take the money, a missile crashes in the background -- killing many of Yubari’s men and making good on Red’s promise. Savvy fans know from an earlier trailer that Red has two more missiles aimed at the militants if they don’t comply with his wishes.

The second scene reveals that Red has been captured (again!) by a female Mossad Agent (Mozhan Marno) who is seemingly about to torture (or kill) Red as revenge for the agents killed during the incident in Israel. However, Red doesn’t seem too worried, telling Mossad that her boss will be releasing him within the hour. It’s nice to see Red has not lost his swagger.

Fans will have to tune in Monday to see the conclusion of these two exciting scenes. Will Yubari help Red find Berlin? And can Red get away from Mossad alive? Fans will find out when “The Blacklist” Season 2 premieres on Monday, Sept. 22, at 10 p.m. EDT on NBC.
