While Sex and the City 2 may not have climbed the box office, it seems like the leading ladies of the hit HBO series might be back again.

The latest buzz is that creator Michael Patrick King is thinking about slipping Gossip Girl star Blake Lively into the shoes of the young Carrie Bradshaw in a Sex and the City prequel.

According to a report by Australian magazine Grazia, the movie would be based on Candace Bushnell's 2010 novel The Carrie Diaries which follows Carrie through her teen years.

The second book called, Summer in the City, comes out in April and follows the 19-year-old's move from Connecticut to The Big Apple in hopes of fulfilling her dream of becoming a journalist.

Grazia reports that there are no plans to bring Sarah Jessica Parker and the other girls back together as the prequel is about breathing new life into a story and exploring Carrie's first few months in New York City and the beginning of her relationship with an older man.
