Who knew Blake Shelton was so superstitious?

During an appearance on Netflix’s new talk show “Chelsea,” starring comedian Chelsea Handler, the country singer explained why he gets tongued tied when talking about his relationship with Gwen Stefani.

“It makes me nervous to talk about it,” Shelton, 40, said, revealing that he doesn’t want to jinx how well things are going with the 46-year-old rock star. According to Shelton, who began dating his “Voice” co-star four months after he divorced from Miranda Lambert in July 2015, he’s the happiest he’s ever been when he’s with the blond haired songstress. “There’s no question about that. Absolutely no question about that,” he confirmed to Handler.

Although Shelton may struggle to talk about his highly publicized romance with the “No Doubt” lead singer, he has no problem singing about it. In fact, the country crooner turned their love story into a record titled “If I’m Honest.”

The album, which was released in May, delves into Shelton’s steamy relationship with Stefani in addition to recounting the pain he felt when he and Lambert ended their marriage of four years.

“When my marriage fell apart, and then trying to pick the pieces up from being at the rock bottom and trying to move forward, next thing you know, there’s this person that I kind of knew, that I worked with on [‘The Voice’],” Shelton explained to Handler. “And then all of a sudden, to find out she’s going through the same exact thing at the same time.”

Shelton continued to say that he felt as though he and Stefani were destined to be together. “All of this has to be meant to happen,” he stated of their paths crossing. “So, I made a record about it.”

The country singer isn’t the only one who felt as though their relationship was fated. During an interview with Harper Bazaar in August, Stefani, who divorced from Gavin Rossdale in October 2015, revealed that she felt like she was “being handed this gift of a friend who was going through the exact same thing at the exact same time.”

“It went from horrible to, like, hopeful and like, ‘Wow, God, you just don't know what's gonna happen next,’” she explained of how Shelton turned her life upside down.

Netflix subscribers can catch Shelton discussing his relationship with Stefani on “Chelsea” when the episode streams to Netflix on Thursday, July 7.
