‘Blindspot’
How will Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander), Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton), Reade (Rob Brown), Zapata (Audrey Esparza) and Patterson (Ashley Johnson) help each other out in "Blindspot" Season 2, episode 11? NBC

The fate of “Blindspot” remains to be unknown as the heads of NBC have not yet confirmed whether or not the series will be renewed for a third season.

In 2015, “Blindspot” was renewed for a second season just over a month after the series premiered on the network. Jennifer Salke, president of NBC Entertainment, told TV Line that they were very happy with the ratings of the new series. “We are over the moon with the success of ‘Blindspot,’ and want to thank our producers and amazing cast for creating one of the most riveting shows on television,” she said. But the same cannot be said about “Blindspot” Season 2.

Since the series premiered in September 2016, its ratings have dwindled by a lot. Additionally, Season 2 was confirmed very early on while Season 1 was still airing. Now, “Blindspot” is airing episodes of the second half of Season 2, but NBC still hasn’t given the Jaimie Alexander-starrer the green light.

However, “Blindspot” fans may soon see the light at the end of the tunnel as the winter premiere episode received very high ratings on Wednesday night. On the show’s official Twitter account, one fan expressed his excitement over the return of the series with Season 2, episode 10. The “Blindspot” account replied that they are happy to be back, and there’s no chance that they will slow down in Season 2B.

In “Nor I, Nigel, AKA Leg In Iron,” a shocking twist was revealed. Jane Doe used to have a huge leopard tattoo on the side of her neck. In present time, the tattoo is no longer on her body. Nas (Archie Panjabi) and Patterson (Ashley Johnson) would have to decrypt the tattoo to find out what it means and why it was erased from Jane’s neck.

“Blindspot” Season 2 airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
