It's been a long year full of unexpected surprises, but the Forrester, Logan and Avant families will try to put their past problems behind them as they all gather for Christmas dinner on the Friday, Dec. 22 episode of "The Bold and the Beautiful."

The families will all gather together at the Forrester estate to celebrate the holiday as is tradition, and there will be an attempt to forget some of the big problems that plagued the various members of the group on the CBS soap. However, with some new announcements and potential issues brewing, it may also be hard to fully leave the past behind.

Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) have become engaged again, though they haven't made the information public to everyone because her divorce from Bill (Don Diamont) has not been finalized. Though they have shared the news with Thorne (Ingo Rademacher) and Katie (Heather Tom), the fact that it's still a secret is forcing them to spend their time at the get together apart, and Brooke will express to Ridge that she wishes they and their son, RJ (Anthony Turpel), could all truly celebrate together the way a family would.

"I wish that we could all be together for Christmas," she says in a preview clip.

Her wish may prompt Ridge to decide that they will let the entire family know they've rekindled their relationship, and the news could make the get together even more festive as their loved ones who are happy for them congratulate them.

However, one person who may not be feeling so festive is Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), as she is still waiting for the results of the paternity test she conducted on the baby she's carrying. The test is something she's keeping a secret from Liam (Scott Clifton) and everyone else except for Bill, because no one knows she slept with him. However, keeping her guilt hidden will remain difficult when Liam begins to enthuse over how their next Christmas will see them together with their child.

"Can you believe that this time next year we're going to have our own baby here to celebrate its first Christmas?" He asks in the clip.

"The Bold and the Beautiful" airs weekdays at 1:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
