Fox series “Bones” will air its season final season, Season 12, which will consist of twelve episodes. The series finale, titled “The End In The End,” will wrap up the storylines of six major characters of the show: Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz), Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel), Angela Montenegro (Michaela Conlin), Jack Hodgins (T.J. Thyne), Dr. Camille/Cam Saroyan (Tamara Taylor) and James Aubrey (John Boyd).

The series finale, titled “The End In The End,” is a two-part episode – episodes 11 and 12 – with episode 11 showing the six major characters in a different light, according to the “Bones” executive producer, Michael Peterson. He told TVLine, “It’s going to cover a 24-hour period of time, and it gives a lot of setup for Episode 12. It’s a very strange episode.”

Furthermore, Season 12, episode 11 will also wrap up Zack Addy’s (Eric Millegan) storyline. Millegan will appear in three episodes of “Bones,” and episode 11 will be last time fans see Brennan’s former assistant.

Speculation suggests that the action in the series finale will take place inside the lab rather than on the field. A series of behind the scenes photos shared by the Season 12 cast on social media tease of something big happening inside the lab.

Last season ended with Brennan being kidnapped by Zack. When Season 12 airs in 2017, Booth will desperately search for her. Although it seemed like Zack is the notorious serial killer known as The Puppeteer, the photos of the season premiere tell a different story. Zack may be protecting Brennan in his own twisted way.

The final season will have an epic serial killer storyline, an undercover operation in a lumberjack competition, a wedding and the return of several fan favorite characters.

“Bones” Season 12 premieres on Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 9 p.m. EST on Fox.
