NBA player Brandon Jennings fired off a series of tweets on Wednesday, denying that he ever cheated on ex-girlfriend Teyana Taylor. After the singer appeared on “The Wendy Williams Show” on Tuesday and once again indicated that her relationship with Jennings ended because of his infidelity, the New York Knicks’ guard felt compelled to defend himself.

More than two years ago, Jennings was involved in a love triangle of sorts with Taylor and actress Lashontae Heckard, who were close friends at the time. When Jennings declared that he was dating Heckard, he called it his first “real” relationship, claiming that he was single when the couple got together. But Taylor claims that she was engaged to Jennings, whom she dated on-and-off for six years.

Williams addressed Taylor’s past relationship on her show, telling the audience that the singer’s best friend had an affair with her boyfriend.

“Oh, I ain’t seen her since,” Taylor said, regarding Heckard. “But most importantly — remaining a good person and allowing myself to love again is why I am, where I am. I have a beautiful baby, I have a wonderful husband and I’m just very excited.”

Reading about what Taylor had to say, Jennings was quick to respond.

Shortly after her relationship with Jennings ended, Taylor moved on to another professional basketball star, Cleveland Cavaliers guard Iman Shumpert. The couple had their first child last December, and while they maintained that they were engaged up until recently, the star of Kanye West’s “Fade” video accidentally spilled the beans that they were secretly married.

Jennings and Heckard had a child of their own in November 2015.
