A two-story houseboat capsized on Westchester Creek in the Bronx Thursday, smashing a smaller boat nearby.

Four people were on the houseboat as it capsized but all onboard escaped, a Fire Department spokesman said. Three of them were treated on the scene and one was taken to Jacobi Medical Center with minor injuries, reported the New York Times.

One of the tenants of the houseboat, who would identify himself to the New York Times only as Bob, said he just returned from getting coffee when he heard the sound of gushing water.

I checked, and there was a hole in the side of the boat - a big crack, Bob, 54, said, adding, Ninety seconds later, it was down.

The marina's owner, Francois Guillet, said that high winds from Thursday morning may have tipped the boat over.
