Bruce Jenner, 65, has been the subject of more than a few cheap shots in the past year for his reported transition from male to female. But it looks like people may be getting tired of it. At the iHeartRadio Music Awards Sunday night, host Jamie Foxx, 47, made a joke at Jenner’s expense that received a mixed reaction from the crowd. Now, the actor is under fire for what many are calling transphobic remarks.

During his monologue Sunday, Foxx targeted Jenner with the following ill-advised quip.

"We have some groundbreaking performances here, too, tonight. We got Bruce Jenner, who will be here doing some musical performances,” Foxx said. “He's doing a his-and-her duet all by himself."

"Look," Foxx added, addressing Jenner directly. "I'm just busting your balls while I still can."

The comments were met with a lackluster response from the show’s audience and fans online immediately responded, calling the joke insensitive and transphobic.

Jenner, who appears on his family's E!'s reality series "Keeping up with the Kardashians," has been in the spotlight for months for his reported transition from male to female. However, the former Olympian has not publicly confirmed the news. Earlier this month, an Us Weekly article seemed to verify Jenner’s transition when it featured a quote from Kendall Jenner, 19, acknowledging her father’s choice. Kendall later denied saying the purported quote.

“How is it legal for someone to ‘quote’ someone and publish it if in fact you never said what was quoted,” Kendall Jenner wrote on Twitter. “Shame on Us Weekly for making up quotes. I never said those things. I never spoke to them.”

Foxx hosted the 2015 iHeartRadio Music Awards after previously attending the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards Saturday with his children. The actor has not yet responded to the criticism about his joke.
