Bull (Michael Weatherly) and his team jump from high-stakes case to high-stakes case in the CBS drama.

In the last episode of “Bull,” Season 2, episode 4, Bull tried to help an actress with a custody case, but after his advice didn’t pan out too well for her, she sued him. Of course, he found a way to fight through it and win the case. He even helped the actress get back her son and make her like and appreciate him again. Because that’s just how Bull works.

Now, in the next Season 2 installment, episode 5, titled “Play The Hand You’re Dealt,” Bull is no longer in the hot seat, but a friend of his is. This case will be like none he’s ever had before.

“Bull navigates the unfamiliar rules of a Native American tribal court when his college roommate is accused of committing murder on his reservation,” the synopsis teases.

In the promo, Bull is seen receiving a call from his friend, who’s calling him from a jail phone. “I need your help,” the friend says.

“What are we talking about?” Bull asks.

“First degree murder,” Bull’s former roommate states.

When a friend’s in trouble, Bull always jumps in to help. So, he and his team head to the Native American reservation to try to get him acquitted of the murder charges. From the promo, you can already start to see just how different the case will be as the trial is held at the Nawakwa Community Center instead of at a court. What rules will be different here? Will Bull still be able to use all of his technology and tricks?

The complete tricks package might not be necessary as the real killer just might be found out, as the promo narrator teases, “Is someone on the jury the real killer?”

Bull seems to think so at least.

“Kill a man, then volunteer to be on the jury, it’s pretty clever,” Bull says in the trailer.

Aside from the case, Bull will travel into more new territory as he meets Marissa’s (Geneva Carr) new boyfriend, Kyle (Gary Wilmes).

In Season 2, episode 3, Marissa was coming in late and happier than usual, causing Bull to find out that she’s seeing someone new. While he seemed a little jealous of the new man in her life and the fact that she’s no longer always around, he, of course, was happy for her and told her as such.

Now, in episode 5, Bull will finally meet the boyfriend, though from the looks of a newly-released photo of the meeting, it doesn’t seem like Bull’s jealousy has dissipated much.

Bull’s forced to watch as the couple hold hands and make googly-eyes at each other at a restaurant and it appears as though he’s not enjoying this third-wheeling as much as he maybe thought when he agreed to it. Did he run into the couple at the restaurant or did they set it up? Will Bull be able to last the whole meal with them or find a way to leave early?

This episode was written by Sarah Haught and directed by Peter Werner.

Watch “Bull” Season 2, episode 5 when it airs on CBS on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 9 p.m. EDT.
