Even before the Washington Police could track down Oscar Ramiro Ortega, the suspect in last week's firing in Northwest Washington, they are presented with one more security-related case. And this time the case is extremely high profile as it involves the White House.
Secrete Service officials found two bullets on White House grounds Tuesday. The first bullet which was fired at an exterior window of the White House was stopped by ballistic glass. Another round of ammunition was found outside of the White House.
The bullets found on the White House grounds are not linked to the shots fired Friday.
Friday, many people from Washington reportedly heard gunshots and later found an AK-47 semiautomatic rifle in an abandoned car.
U.S. Park Police say they believe Ortega fired shots from an AK-47 semiautomatic rifle while he was in a vehicle on 16th Street and Constitution Avenue NW. He allegedly abandoned the car and the weapon in the 2300 block of Constitution Avenue and fled on foot, The Washington Post reported.
