Expect more zombies, bloodshed and acid in “Call of Duty.” A new trailer for “Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare -- Exo Zombies Infection” previews gameplay in the zombie mode for the latest downloadable content pack for the game.

The new experience will be released Tuesday for Xbox One and Xbox 360 as part of the latest game’s Ascendance DLC pack. The trailer (watch below) stars Jon Bernthal, John Malkovich, Rose McGowan and Bill Paxton, and in it, the characters have escaped the Atlas research facility and are headed to Burger Town, where they discover the zombie infection has spread. The mode offers players four new multiplayer maps, enemies and weapons.

Published worldwide by Activision, the popular first-person video game franchise has reached over $10 billion in sales with 175 million copies sold. Originally, the "Call of Duty" franchise thrived off of warfare that mimicked historical battles. But the creative team chose to experiment with new themes when Treyarch Studios entered the project for "World at War," studio head Mark Lamia said at Las Vegas DICE Summit.

Treyarch Studios introduced a zombie mode for the World War II version as an extra feature for players who completed the game. With immediate popularity, the franchise released the gameplay mode to all players and has expanded it in future games. Activision is expected to reveal the next "Call of Duty" installment in May.

Ascendance is the second of four packs for Advanced Warfare. The first Exo Zombies game mode was released on Jan. 27 for Xbox consoles as part of the Havoc pack. Players can download a Season Pass for access to all four downloadable content packs for Advanced Warfare. The Ascendance Pack will be available for $15 on its own Tuesday.
