KEY POINTS

  • Cam Reddish finds a new home as he was sent by Knicks to the Trail Blazers
  • Josh Hart reunites with former Villanova teammate Jalen Brunson in New York
  • Brunson approves of playing with Hart and is raring to reconnect with him

The New York Knicks have reportedly found a taker for Cam Reddish with reports that the team has agreed to a trade with the Portland Trail Blazers involving Josh Hart.

According to ESPN, the Knicks have reportedly agreed to trade the former Duke Blue Devil to the Blazers together with a lottery-protected first-round draft pick to Portland.

Other players who were reportedly headed to the Blazer part of the deal are Svi Myhailiuk and Ryan Arcidiancono.

The deal puts an end to the guessing game.

Since being acquired by the Knicks from the Hawks, the 23-year-old forward had not seen action for New York since December 3.

Reddish fell out of the Knicks rotation, averaging only 8.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, and an assist in a lowly 21.9 minutes of action.

Moreover, he has shot 44.9% from the field and 30.4% from beyond the arc.

It is also worth noting that the 10th overall pick of the 2019 NBA Draft is set to become a restricted free agent in the summer.

With the change in scenery, joining the Blazers may potentially allow him to recalibrate and recall his old form.

One of the best performances Reddish churned out was during the 2020-21 NBA season. At the time, he averaged 11.2 points, four rebounds, and 1.3 assists.

He played in only 26 games no thanks to an Achilles injury–yet another obstacle that the native of Pennsylvania needs to weather.

For the Knicks, the move will reunite two former Villanova Wildcats in Hart and Jalen Brunson. They teamed up for two seasons, winning a championship in 2019.

Upon learning that he would be reunited with Hart, Brunson put up a social media post of his Villanova jersey retirement ceremony in 2016.

Hart was in attendance on that occasion.

Aside from that, Brunson could not hide his excitement about reuniting with his old college buddy.

"Oh s---! Yes!" Brunson allegedly yelled as he pulled out his phone and raised his arms in the air in triumph via CBS Sports.

The 26-year-old would reportedly go and show the news to his family and friends, all of whom were just as excited.
