As Apple continues to delay the launch of its illusive iPhone 5 the competition is just getting thicker as T-Mobile announced the launch of its latest 4G phone, the myTouch 4G Slide.

The phone is an HTC product and comes loaded with 'superphone' like features which can give the upcoming iPhone 5 a run for its money. While the rumored list of features which will grace the next rendition of iPhone continues to grow, the Android breed of smartphones has delivered on the features which are due to come in iPhone 5.

HTC has launched another 'superphone' in the league of Thunderbolt and Sensation, the slider phone myTouch 4G Slide which runs on Android 2.3 or Gingerbread juice. The phone is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor which places it in the league of Samsung Galaxy S2 and HTC Sensation which also sport a dual-core 1.2GHz chipsets. Apple iPhone 5 is rumored to be powered by an A5 dual-core 1GHz chipset which powers its iPad 2.

HTC's myTouch 4G Slide packs in an 8MP camera with dual-LED flash. It is rumored that iPhone 5 will come equipped with a dual-LED flash. A rumor which gained credence as reports suggested that Apple had reduced the orders for LED flash units from Philips which it uses in iPhone 4. DigiTimes reported that Taiwan-based firms Everlight Electronics, Edison Opto and Lite-On Technology could possibly be chosen by Apple as suppliers for the dual-LED flash. It was also recently confirmed that Apple has placed an order for 90 percent of its 8MP camera sensors with OmniVision. However while Apple is delaying its iPhone 5 myTouch Slide is here with what is expected in iPhone 5 - a dual-LED flash. myTouch Slide also offer 1080p video capture and the camera offers improved low-light performance and Clear-Shot HDR feature which allows capturing objects in bright light.

The phone from HTC camp sports a 3.7-inch WVGA display with 800x480 screen resolution and comes equipped with a slide-out QWERTY keypad. The phone also offers voice recognition feature in the form of a Genius Button which takes one shot voice commands, powered by Dragon Dictation from Nuance. It is rumored that iPhone 5 will also sport voice-recognition features as it is reported that Apple has been negotiations with Nuance Communications.

The myTouch 4G Slide weighs about 6.5 oz and is 0.52-inch thick. Apple is rumored to launch a thin iPhone 5.

It is also rumored that iPhone 5 will feature a 3.7-inch curved glass screen which will match myTouch Slide's screen size. HTC myTouch 4G Slide But the biggest difference is that T-Mobile has specified that myTouch 4G Slide is coming this July while iPhone 5 release is still in limbo.

Other rumored features coming the iPhone 5 way are edge-to-edge display, SIM-less design, 1080p video playback and tear-drop design.
