Jeremy Renner is thrilled to reprise his role as Hawkeye in “Captain America: Civil War.” He revealed he is doing a lot of exciting stuff in the film.

The actor spoke to Screen Rant about his character’s progression and hinted he will be doing a lot of action in the film. “Yeah, yeah. It’s more active. A lot of fun stuff happening in that one,” Renner said. "I can’t speak too much for it. They’re still filming that sucker right now. But yeah, there’s a lot of stuff happening in that one physically for me anyway. Then who knows in the future? I don’t know what’s going to happen.”

Renner’s character Hawkeye, a master archer, is the member of Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D.,as well as an expert tactician who uses variety of arrow tricks.

The recently released Marvel film “Avengers: Age of Ultron” saw Renner channeling the loner personality of Hawkeye, the actor told Fandango. The film revealed the reason behind the character’s decision to stay alone. However, if Renner’s statement is anything to go by he is likely to show a fun side of his character in “Captain America: Civil War.”

It has yet to be revealed on whose side Hawkeye will be in the upcoming film -- Captain America (Chris Evans) or Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.). The film will see formation of two groups of Avengers after the U.S. government passes an act to control the former’s actions. One group will be led by Iron Man, while Captain America will head the other.

The film is being shot in Atlanta with additional filming scheduled to take place in Puerto Rico, Berlin and Iceland. Anthony and Joe Russo are directing it from the screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The cast includes Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Rudd. Kevin Feige is the producer and Henry Jackman has supplied the music.

The film opens May 6, 2016 in 3D and IMAX.
