Carrie Fisher showed off her dramatic 50 pound weight loss thanks to a Jenny Craig program, joking on the Today show that she wants to once again don the infamous “Star Wars” metal bikini.

I want to get into the metal bikini and just walk around the house like an idiot, she said during her appearance on the Today show on Aug. 24. Answer the doorbell: 'What is it? This old thing?' ... I'll come out with a line of metal bikinis for women over 40. If you want dignity, you wear metal bikinis over (age) 40.

The metal bikini, which a svelte Fisher wore back in 1983 for “Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi,” is considered iconic in pop culture.

Since, Fisher was scrutinized by the public for a weight gain, rumored to weigh in at 180 pounds in 2009, after battling publicly with alcohol issues stemming from being the child of two stars (her parents are Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds) and her role as Princess Leia in “Star Wars.”

I weighed three million pounds. I couldn't look in the mirror. I saw pictures of myself where I didn't look like myself. I thought that was getting old. It turns out it was mostly getting fat,” she said on the Today show. “I couldn't leave the house [to go shopping], because they didn't have sizes [large enough]. I exhausted the alphabet on bra sizes.”

As the spokesperson for Jenny Craig, Fisher has lost 50 pounds in nine months.
