Casey Anthony's lawyers have until noon on Aug. 26 to appeal a court ruling that says she must serve a year of supervised probation in the state of Florida for a check fraud conviction.

Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez, told CNN that his legal team plans to appeal the ruling due to safety concerns.

Belvin Perry, the chief judge of Florida's Ninth Judicial Circuit who presided over Anthony's trial, ruled on Friday that Anthony must serve one year of supervised probation in Orange County.

Anthony will have to return to Florida if her lawyers lose the appeal.

Perry did acknowledge that Anthony would be in danger upon her return to Florida. Due to these safety concerns, he ruled that the Department of Corrections may keep Anthony's address confidential.

According to a poll earlier this month by E-Poll Market Research, Anthony was voted as the most hated person in America.
