The next "Castle" is going to be explosive! Fresh off their Old West honeymoon in episode 7, Rick (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) will be facing one of their most dangerous cases yet in Season 7 of the ABC series. TV Guide has an exclusive sneak peek video from a high-stakes episode 8 showing Esposito (Jon Huertas) facing a serious life or death situation, which has Lanie (Tamala Jones) worried.

Episode 8, “Kill Switch,” will start out with a routine murder investigation, but when Esposito and Ryan (Seamus Dever) go to investigate a possible second victim, they are surprised when the killer takes a subway train hostage with them inside. Rick and Beckett will have to figure out the man’s agenda before someone gets killed.

Executive Producer David Amann has already teased that Esposito’s near-death experience in the episode will move Esposito and Lanie’s storyline forward as Lanie worries about her on-again, off-again boyfriend. The TV Guide video shows Lanie arriving at the station terrified as Beckett learns that the police have a live video feed of the subway car. Beckett promises Lanie that “[Esposito] has been in worse scrapes than this and we are going to get him out of there, I promise you."

However, as Beckett and Lanie begin to watch the feed, the gunman reveals a shocking secret -- he has a bomb under his coat. Things aren't looking good for Esposito.

Will Beckett be able to save Esposito? Will Esposito and Lanie get together again after this episode? Fans will have to tune in next week to find out. “Castle” airs on Mondays at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
