“Chasing Life” fans won’t have to wait long until the show returns to ABC Family. The drama was set to return in August, but star Italia Ricci revealed that the Season 2 premiere date has been moved up a full month.

“Premiere UPDATE!!” Ricci wrote on Instagram. “The new season now starts Monday July 6 at 10/9c!!! Who. Is. Pumped?!?!”

Originally, the network was going to have “Chasing Life” fill the 9 p.m. timeslot after “Becoming Us,” a docu-series about transgender teenagers, finished up at the end of summer. However, now the shows will air on the same night. The move to the 10 p.m. EDT time slot makes ABC Family’s Monday night lineup jam-packed with drama. The show will follow “The Fosters” Season 3 at 8 p.m. EDT and “Becoming Us” at 9 p.m. EDT.

“Chasing Life” fans have been on the edges of their seats since the show wrapped up in March. The Season 1 finale ended with Leo (Scott Michael Foster) proposing to April (Ricci), and she said yes. It looks like Season 2 will have plenty of wedding planning. “From wedding dress shopping to a surprise trip, and a bachelorette party ending in jail time, April is determined to enjoy everything,” states a press release about the show's new season.

Don’t expect Season 2 to be just normal wedding planning though. It looks like April’s cancer is going to make her more unpredictable this year. “An element of the show we’re going to explore more in the second season is ‘all bets are off,’” executive producer Patrick Sean Smith told TV Line. “What a normal character would typically do on a traditional TV series is the opposite of what April Carver can do because of her cancer.”

Although the new start date means “Chasing Life” fans will get to see April and her new attitude sooner, fans anticipating the new series “Monica the Medium,” will have to wait longer. The reality show, which follows a college student who speaks to the dead, will no longer premiere in July. “Monica the Medium” will start on August 17 at 9 p.m. EDT.

“Chasing Life” Season 2 premieres on ABC Family on Monday, July 6, at 10 p.m. EDT.
