Former Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader Sarah Jones, has pleaded not guilty after being charged with first-degree sexual abuse involving a student she used to teach at Dixie Heights High School.

The 26-year-old was accused of having a sexual relationship with a senior at the high school. When sex abuse allegations started to surface last November, the former cheerleader quit her job.

Jones has pleaded innocent to charges of sex abuse as well as unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual or prohibited activities, CBS News Reported.

Jones' mother Cheryl Jones was also indicted with charges of tampering with evidence. She works as the principal of Twenhofel Middle School and has been placed on leave following the incident.

Each of the charges is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison. Judge Patricia Summer of the Kenton Circuit Court reduced Sarah and Cheryl Jones' bonds to $15,000 each. They will be placed on electronic monitoring as term of their release, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.

The student denies it. The parents of the student are upset that this has gone where it has gone. They don't have anything bad to say about Sarah. Sarah denies it, attorney Eric Deters said in December, CBS reported. There's no victim. There's nobody saying 'Hey, this happened.'

Prosecutors are convinced there is enough evidence in the case and computers and phones have been ceased in order to carry out further investigations. The commonwealth feels we have sufficient evidence to go forward, as did a grand jury, Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney CQSara Farmer of Jefferson County told the Cincinnati Enquirer.

The pretrial date is set for June 11, with the full trial on June. 27.
