China CPI Rises to 7.1 Pct

China's consumer price index climbed 7.1 percent in January, jumping from 6.5 percent seen in the last month of 2007.

The National Bureau of Statistics showed Tuesday said that the rising inflation gauge was in line with consensus expectations of a 7 percent rise.
