Chris Brown could be facing time in jail following a fender bender last week.

The singer was involved in a hit-and-run in Los Angeles on Tuesday when his Range Rover backed into a Mercedes. Following the collision, Brown and his former love and ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran were seen taking photos of the vehicles involved as well as talking with the driver of the Mercedes, reports Vibe.com.

The LAPD is investigating whether Brown violated his probation following reports that he became short with the driver of the other vehicle and initially wouldn't provide his insurance and driver's license information, reports TMZ.

But sources close to the singer say Brown was cooperative during the ordeal, telling "Extra" that he provided the correct information and that his lawyer reached out to the other driver involved.

Brown is currently serving probation for the 2009 beating of then-girlfriend Rihanna. Up until just a few weeks ago, the two appeared to have rekindled their friendship. They appeared in Instagram images with each other -- a true sign of love rediscovered. They also made a controversial appearance at the 2013 Grammy Awards, where they sat together and were very affectionate throughout the show.

He is already facing a court date scheduled for June 10, a follow-up to his appearance before a judge in April. During that hearing, prosecutors presented evidence that Brown may have inaccurately reported the days he completed community service work required as part of his probation sentence, reports the New York Daily News. Los Angeles prosecutors motioned for the courts to void the hours Brown completed in Virginia and require him to repeat them in L.A.

Brown's attorney Mark Geragos said that even though his client was traveling during a couple community service shifts, Brown had still properly documented his completed hours of work. This included 11 work logs from the Richmond Police Department.
