Christie Dawn Harris, the 28-year-old Oklahoma woman who used her vagina as a holster to hide a loaded gun, was sentenced to 25 years in state prison late last month, the Smoking Gun reported.
Aside from the lengthy prison sentence, Harris was also ordered to pay more than $1,300 in fines, according to Pontotoc County District Court documents signed off by Judge Steven Kessinger. The Oklahoma woman pleaded no contest to the charges.
Police found the gun hiding in Harris’ vagina after she was arrested in March in Ada, Okla. A drug dog sniffed the car Harris was idling in along with another woman when the dog alerted officers to meth, drug paraphernalia, a .25 caliber semi-automatic pistol and a loaded magazine during a search of the car.
Harris repeatedly told an officer that she needed to go to the bathroom while being transported to a local jail.
As part of standard operating procedure, Harris was asked to lower her underwear so an officer could check to see if she was hiding contraband. Harris initially declined, saying she was having her period, according to the Smoking Gun.
She then obeyed the officer’s orders, and that’s when they found a gun hidden inside Harris’ vagina. Police also found bags of meth hidden in her behind.
“I observed at that time a wooden and metal item sticking out from her vagina area,” Ada Police Officer Kathy Unbewust wrote in a report of the incident. The officer then “pulled the item from her vagina, and found it to be a 5 shot revolver with rounds in the chamber.”
The gun was then disassembled by officers.
