Last year, Christina Aguilera was the center of attention after squeezing her assets into a lilac dress at the AMA Awards. Much focus was then placed on her fuller figure afterward by the media.
This year, she shut the critics up at the 2013 AMA Awards Sunday night, showing her slimmed-down figure in a white cut-out gown.
Aguilera complemented the look, which channeled beauty icon Marilyn Monroe, with sparkly heels, diamonds and platinum-blonde hair. While the singer looks hotter than she did even during her “Dirrty” days, the 32-year-old never publicly lamented her weight gain last year, and has yet to comment on her major slim-down, except to say that she feels "sexier than ever."
When she addressed her weight gain last year, she maintained a positive outlook, saying in an interview with Marie Claire, “I've been criticized for being on both sides of the scale. It's noise I block out automatically. I love my body. My boyfriend loooves my body. My son [4-year-old Max] is healthy and happy, so that's all that matters to me.”
But now, Aguilera, especially with her role on “The Voice,” has become the unofficial face of celebrity weight loss this year, reportedly losing 49 pounds after gaining weight following her divorce from Jordan Bratman in October 2010.
While she has been working with a personal trainer, she now adheres to a strict diet, which includes limiting her alcohol intake, the Life & Style article reported.
“Christina is refreshed and rejuvenated this season," a "Voice" insider said. "She’s really looking after herself and seems genuinely happy inside -- and it shows.” Also, according to the article, she has a balanced meal plan.
Aguilera starts her day with healthy fats and protein such as an avocado, blueberries and turkey bacon. For lunch, she eats chicken breast and a salad filled with bacon. (Chicken breasts are widely viewed as a great source of lean, low-fat protein.) And instead of picking up unhealthy snacks, the singer relies on shrimp cocktails and celery with almond butter.
During the American Music Awards, Aguilera also performed "Say Something" with A Great Big World.
