Christina Aguilera's weight gain has been a gossip magazine headline since the singer stepped out at a Michael Jackson tribute concert in October looking noticeably heavier in a black leotard and fishnet tights.

Aguilera addressed critics during the Winter TCA Tour at The Langham Huntington in California while promoting the second season of NBC's The Voice.

When asked about her weight gain, the singer responded, As long as I'm happy in my own skin, that's all I need, that's all the confirmation I need. I'm happy where I am, I have a boyfriend that loves my body, I love my body, my son is healthy and happy. That's all that matters.

Aguilera wore a plunging Thomas Wylde leopard print maxi dress to the press conference. The Daily Mail noted that the singer's braless look was a bit unflattering.

Her fans, however, disagree. Christina Aguilera looking drop dead gorgeous arriving at #TCA12. Don't you agree? tweeted fan Twitter handle, @AguileraOnline.

The 31-year-old singer has been battling weight gossip for years. She first came onto the music scene in 1999 as a powerhouse vocalist contending against other pop starlets like Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson. At the time, she was exceptionally slender. Some questioned whether or not she had an eating disorder.

Now, the tables have turned, and Aguilera is facing criticism from the other end. Kelly Osbourne slammed Aguilera's fuller figure, stating that the singer had previously criticized Osbourne's physique.

[Christina] called me fat for so many f---ing years, the reality-star said of the fellow 5-foot 2-inch celebrity. F--- you, you're fat, too, she said during E!'s Fashion Police show. Maybe she is just becoming the fat b---h she was born to be.

AskMen.com posed the question Is this what you really want in a woman? to its readers, in regard to Aguilera's visible weight gain in October.

The greatest tribute concert to Michael Jackson turned into a gossip-mongers' ball when photos of Christina Aguilera's buxom physique surfaced, wrote AskMen. Likely bringing smiles to the faces of by those she's purported to have called fat in the past (like the currently trim Kelly Osbourne), the shift in Xtina's weight could be a serious issue men in relationships face with their partners.

Aguilera did not seem to be bothered by the flak. At the American Music Awards in November, Aguilera stepped onstage in a curve-hugging, white Herve Leger bandage dress. Despite the fact that many questioned the choice, the singer's friends defended her.

Christina loves her curves, a close friend of Aguilera's exclusively told RadarOnline.com. She is not pregnant! She's a Latina woman with curves and since when is it not ok to have curves?

She feels like she is setting an example for women and young girls, especially Latinas. She's very proud of her curves. Christina thinks she is a good role model - not everyone is super skinny and she wants girls to embrace their body type, said the source.

The pop star even supposedly insists that she will continue wearing skimpy clothing.

It's not what you look like in a dress, it is how you feel and it is about owning your dress. If you want to wear a tight dress then own it. She says you need to be happy in your own skin the way she is happy in hers.
