Automaker Chrysler LLC will announce what it called extraordinary discounts later Thursday, part of a new incentive to sell dealer's inventories and boost sales.

The new program will mix zero-percent financing and special rebate offers, a spokeswoman from the company confirmed to the Wall Street Journal today.

We have some extraordinary -- extraordinary -- discounts and things we will be announcing today, said the spokeswoman sid, according to reports.

Chrysler's December sales slumped 53 percent in December.

Earlier this week, the company and Europe's Fiat announced a non cash partnership in which Fiat will acquire 35 percent of Chrysler's stake.

The U.S. government granted Chrysler a $4 billion bailout and the firm has said it hopes to get $3 billion in additional loans as its sales had plunged along with other carmakers hit by the economic recession.
