Just for one special night, Citi Field in Qeens, New York, which is the home of New York Mets, will be hosting the first soccer game, a friendly match between Equador and Greece on June 7.

As Ecuador, ranked No.55 in the work, gets ready to compete in the 2011 Copa America, its match with Greece which is currently ranked No.12 will deserve much attention of the City.

The stadium is located in a uniquely strategic place. Citi Field lies in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens borough. Queens prides itself in the large population of Greeks, with Greek restaurants and Orthodox churches in the neighborhood. On the other hand, Queens county has the largest Ecuadorian community in the United States, constituting Queens' largest Latino group. Both nationalities have over 100,000 residents in the area. Whether rain or shine, the competitive match will turn the baseball field into a soccer field on June 7, at 8pm.
