Cosplay, or costume play, is a time-honored tradition at the San Diego Comic-Con. After all our coverage of the event itself, it would feel wrong not to post some of the most memorable cosplay featured at the San Diego Convention Center. These photos run the gamut from well-done to poorly planned, from sexy to questionable, but they're all highly memorable.
Sometimes cosplayers take things to the extreme, as with this racy Aurora costume. The Tick photobombs for extra points.

No convention is complete without costumes from Valve's video games. To the left is the Scout from "Team Fortress 2," with "Portal's" Chell to the right.
@CAntista
"Game of Thrones" cosplay. Note the plush direwolf under Jon Snow's arm.
@PixelK1tty
Absolutely fantastic Iron Man cosplay. Bonus points for the uncanny similarity to Tony Stark underneath the mask.
@Nikolai3d
"The Dark Knight Rises" is still unreleased, but that hasn't stopped cosplayers from donning costumes seen in trailers, posters, and other advance materials.
@StaxIGN
Like most Pixar films, "Brave" captured the hearts and minds of plenty of cosplayers this year.
@Nikolai3d
This amazing "Game of Thrones" cosplay shows off the Mother of Dragons and Khal Drogo. Is this amazing? It is known.
@dihno_dna
Possibly the most bizarre cosplay out there at the convention. It mashes up the costumes of the X-Men's Cyclops and Phoenix with the visual style of cult Japanese game "Katamari Damacy."
@SignedInPodcast
One of the most well-done Joker costumes out there.
@scout101
The Mask, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, AND Captain America? Okay, this goes beyond "mashup" and into "insanity."
@CAntista
Everyone is excited to pose with Freddie Mercury.
@kpereira
Four female TARDIS cosplayers. Maybe this is getting a little out of hand.
@Nikolai3d
This Final Fantasy XIII-2 cosplay is certainly easy on the eyes.
