Update — Monday, Aug. 28 at 9:58 p.m. EDT: This article previously said Mayweather broke a record after winning his fight against McGregor, becoming the first boxer to go 50-0. In truth, it is Julio César Chávez who has the longest undefeated record at 87-0 over 13 years.

Original story:

Floyd Mayweather’s ex-girlfriend, Shantel Jackson, essentially claimed the highly anticipated fight with UFC champion Conor McGregor was staged. She took to Snapchat after the match, which was ended by the referee after McGregor stopped defending himself, to share her opinion on the fight.

“I see someone likes to throw fights,” she wrote Saturday, according to the blog Media Take Out, who obtained a screenshot of the post.

Mayweather reportedly earned $300 million for the bout while McGregor raked in a reported $150 million.

While Mayweather, 40, and McGregor, 29, were at each other’s throats while promoting the match, they were chummy after it was all over. They smiled, shook hands and posed for pictures.

There’s no evidence the fight was staged, but Jackson and Mayweather have a rocky past. He proposed to her for a second time in June 2015 over text message, but only wanted to go through with the proposal if she promised to change her attitude.

“This is what I offer to you. Let's get married move in together you can go back in forth to L.A. and stay at the condo,” he texted her, according to TMZ. “I promise I will get you in 3 A list movies this year and I'm willing to go to counseling to make us work and you can get the stuff you want and I'm willing to change but I need you to have a better attitude.”

Jackson wasn’t wooed by Mayweather and shared messages from April 2013 when he wasn’t at his most romantic. TMZ shared the “highlights:”

  • “I had your phone traced. I hired a detective. Your not slick.”
  • “I got nasty videos too that I can put on Instagram and twitter”
  • “I took you from rags to riches now you back to rags bitch. that's why your out selling shit going on petty ass auditions fronting to people like your doing big s---.”

Mayweather claimed he would expose intimate pictures of Jackson if she didn’t remove a picture of herself with rapper Nelly from social media. “[Floyd] threatened that if I didn't take down the photo of me and Nelly, he would post ‘naked photos’ of me on social media,” she claimed, according to TMZ.

Nelly and Jackson are still reportedly dating.

Mayweather is probably retired from boxing, and it’s unlikely that McGregor will return to the ring. Dana White, president of the UFC, said the Irish star was slated to return to the Octagon. “That kid went out there tonight, 0-0 in boxing ... and went 10 rounds with the best to ever do it,” he told TMZ sports Monday.

When asked if McGregor would try to get into Hollywood, he didn’t seem confident. “I don't know about movies. He's a fighter, not a movie star,” White said.
